Technical Writing Job
Technical writing jobs opened up a whole new world for me.
I had hardly traveled outside my home state when I secured my first
technical writing job. I had always been pretty much a home bird,
enjoying being part of the local community. And then I got a
technical writing job, and all that changed.
I had been out of work for a while, and wasn't sure how I was going
to pay the rent. Then a friends suggested that I apply for a
technical writing job that he had seen advertised on the
Internet.
I applied for the contract, even though I was based in San Diego and
the job was in Chicago. I won the project, and that was how my new
career path started. After that, I took on technical writing jobs
in cities all over the USA - New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Memphis
and Seattle.
After that, I went further afield. I started taking on projects in
overseas locations such as London, Paris and Madrid. Doing these
kind of contract technical writing jobs really is a great way
to see the world.
A typical contract lasts for around six months. That's enough time
for you to get to know a city and its people, enjoy the culture and
lifestyle, then move on to the next technical writing job.
I've been doing this for ten years now, and it's a great way to earn
a living.
However, now it is time for me to settle down. I met someone very
special in Boston, and now we intend to settle down together on the
East Coast. So instead of looking for contract positions, I am now
looking to find a full time technical writing job. But if you
