Freelance Web Design Job
Freelance web design job opportunities are hard to come
by in Alaska. So Anne Joel didn't think she would have much of a
chance of becoming a successful designer, unless she moved south and
left her beloved home state.
This was something she really didn't want to do - even though the
prospect of warm winters in California sounded enticing. She wanted
to stay with her family and friends in the small town where she was
born. But how could she find enough freelance web design jobs
to keep her busy?
Fortunately, the nature of the Internet gave her the opportunity she
wanted. Because the world wide web is just what it says - worldwide
- she was able to work for clients all over the globe. And that has
changed her view of life forever. She now has more freelance web
design jobs than she can handle.
"It's fantastic," she says. "I have clients all over the world, and
I deal with all kinds of people, with all kinds of requirements. Yet
I never have to leave my family or my home town. I can do everything
from my home office in the spare bedroom. And it's great to know
there will always be enough freelance web design jobs to keep
my busy, year in, year out."
Even when the rest of the town is snowed in and can't get to work,
Anne keeps on going. All she needs is a phone line to connect her to
the outside world.
Of course, there are some disadvantages to doing freelance web
design jobs on a global scale. "Sometimes I get woken by a phone
call in the middle of the night. Clients in Australia or New Zealand
forget how big the time difference is. But I don't mind really, it's
better then being without a job.
