Freelance Art Job
Freelance art job vacancy - that's the sign that changed my
career, my life and my future. Just seeing that one job ad made me
think again about what I wanted from life - and how to get it.
I had been to art college, and got my qualifications, but I wasn't
really looking for a creative career. I had more fallen into art by
accident, and had great plans to make a living in the financial
world. Somehow, I had got the idea that I would make a great stock
broker, and live in luxury. But I found that it wasn't as easy as I
thought, and ended up with no job at all. That's when I saw the sign
freelance art job vacancy.
I thought about it for a while. I had the qualifications, I believed
I could do the job - and I definitely needed the money. So I rang
up, made an appointment with the client, and took my portfolio of
student work along, to see if I could win my first freelance art
job.
The meeting went very well, and the client decided to award me the
job, even though I had no post-college experience. But I made up for
that by working twice as hard, and trying to be twice as creative.
The client was delighted with the results, and soon I was getting
recommendations for other freelance art job projects.
As a result, I now have a new career that I find interesting and
creative. Stockbroking? Forget it. This freelance art job
stuff is much more to my liking. The work is interesting, the pay is
good, and I'm in charge of my own studio. Looking back, I'm so glad
I saw that ad, and made the decision to try something new.
