Freelance Writing Job
Free lance writing job - that was exactly what I
wanted.
I had tried to make it in my chosen career as a lawyer, but my heart
wasn't in it. I knew I could make lots of money, but what would be
the point if I didn't enjoy it as a lawyer? I couldn't face the
prospect of spending forty years doing something I wasn't really
interested in. How awful would that be? So I decided to look for a
free lance writing job.
I first thought about getting a free lance writing job when I
was in law school. I was asked to edit the student magazine, and I
thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. It was hard work, of course,
especially as I had to fit it all around my studies, but very
interesting. I loved being responsible for creating a new work of
journalism, that was then read by thousands of people.
I never forgot the buzz that I got from doing that first free
lance writing job, and I knew I would never get the same feeling
from conveyancing, handling divorces and all the other stuff that
lawyers have to do. It all sounded so boring.
So I jacked in the legal stuff, and went out looking for more
free lance writing jobs. I found it hard going at first, as
no-one took an ex-lawyer seriously as a writer. But soon I managed
to persuade a legal firm to let me write some brochures and reports
for them. My legal experience came in handy, and that gave me an
edge in terms of getting the job.
For my next free lance writing job, I approached a
pharmaceuticals company. After that, I discovered that I could find
