Freelance Copywriter

A friend of mine is a freelance copywriter. As we were chatting casually over coffee one day at Second Cup, he brought about the idea of one of his latest campaigns. Working for an advertising agency on Madison Avenue is an incredible feat, especially at his ripe young age. He would be hired on a freelance arrangement and presented with opportunities to work with exciting brands.

One of his recent tasks as a freelance copywriter was to write a sales letter for a well known skateboarding products manufacturer. They wanted to expand their line of extreme skateboards and clothing gear into retail stores nation wide. So what he did was astounding – working with a small team of other freelance copywriters, he was able to introduce the manufacturer’s brands into stores across the country.

As a freelance copywriter, Adrian Gerry built quite a reputation for his niche market skills, which is targeting the younger generation who are into extreme sports such as skateboarding and snowboarding. Adrian discovered his passion while taking a communications class in college, and explored the idea of working for one of the bigger advertising firms.

But instead of approaching the companies and asking for employment, he decided to be a free agent working as a freelance copywriter so that he could explore as many opportunities as he can. Rather than staying at one company in spite of the exciting work he could do, he jumps around from opportunity to opportunity, working on various campaigns.

Adrian enjoys his job as a freelance copywriter and has fine tuned his skills. Not to mention his lifestyle as a young, urban professional!
